Booking Widget

Customize your booking widget

Match the widget to your brand — theme, colours, border radius, button label, language, header and background images, and the Notify Me option.

A booking widget that looks like it belongs on your site converts better than one that looks bolted on. Every appearance setting lives in Business Profile → Booking Widget (/app/business/widget), and none of them require you to touch your website again once the embed code is in place.

Choose how the widget appears

Start with the widget type, because it changes where the booking experience shows up on the page.

Widget typeBest for
Inline widgetA dedicated booking section on a page — the booking flow is embedded in the layout.
Floating booking buttonA persistent button that stays visible as the guest scrolls any page.
Booking button or linkA simple call to action placed inline with your own copy or navigation.
Popup windowOpening the booking flow in an overlay above your page content.
The four widget types

Set the booking path

The booking path decides where the guest actually completes the booking. There are three options:

  • Complete booking inside the widget — the guest never leaves your page. This is the recommended option and the best experience on mobile.
  • Open the Seatingly booking page in the same tab — the guest is taken to your hosted booking page.
  • Open the Seatingly booking page in a new tab — your site stays open behind the booking page.

Tip

Every path preserves marketing attribution, including across a new tab, so your choice here will not cost you campaign reporting.

Pick a theme and colours

Choose Light, Dark or Custom. Light and Dark give you a clean, accessible starting point in one click. Custom unlocks the full colour set:

SettingWhat it controls
Primary (button) colourThe main action buttons — "Find a time", "Confirm booking" and similar.
Text colourBody and label text inside the widget.
Background colourThe widget surface behind the booking form.
Border colourThe outline around the widget and its fields.
Border radiusHow rounded the widget corners and controls are, from square to fully pill-shaped.
Button labelThe words on your call to action, for example "Book a table", "Reserve", or "Book an appointment".
Appearance settings

Keep contrast readable

If you set a custom text colour against a custom background, check the two are still comfortable to read on a phone in daylight. Pale grey text on a cream background is the most common accessibility problem we see.

Write a button label that fits your business

The default wording suits restaurants, but the label is free text — use the words your guests use. "Book a table" for a restaurant, "Reserve a spot" for a café, "Book an appointment" for a salon or clinic. Short labels survive small screens better; aim for three words or fewer.

Add header and background images

You can set an optional header image and an optional background image to give the widget more of your atmosphere.

Images are supplied as URLs, not uploads

There is no file upload in the widget settings. You paste an https image URL that is already hosted somewhere public — your own website, your media library, or any image host. Supported formats are png, jpg, jpeg, gif, webp, avif and svg.

  1. Upload the image wherever your website assets already live and open it in a browser.
  2. Copy the full address. It must start with https:// and end in a supported image extension.
  3. Paste it into the Header image URL or Background image URL field.
  4. Save your draft, review the preview, then publish.

Tip

If the image host later moves or deletes the file, the widget can no longer load it. Use a stable location you control rather than a temporary sharing link.

Set the widget language

The widget is available in English, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português and العربية. Pick the language your guests read — it applies to the labels and prompts inside the booking flow.

Offer Notify Me when you are full

Turn on “Show Notify Me when no slots are available” so that a guest who arrives when nothing is bookable can still leave their details instead of closing the page. It turns a dead end into a lead you can follow up.

Review, publish, done

  1. Use Save draft while you are still deciding — drafts are invisible to guests.
  2. Use Reset unsaved changes to back out of edits you have not saved.
  3. When you are happy, choose Publish changes. The status switches to Published and the last published date updates.
  4. Reload your live site to confirm. You do not need to re-paste the embed code.

Note

The embed snippet never changes when settings change. Your public widget ID always fetches the latest published configuration, so a rebrand is a five-minute job in the portal rather than a website release.
