Create marketing tracking links
Build a tracked booking link, embed code or QR code so every booking is attributed to the campaign that produced it.
A tracking link is a booking link that remembers where the guest came from. Send one out with a campaign and every booking it produces is labelled with that source and campaign in your reports — no spreadsheets, no guessing which flyer worked.
Where to find it
Marketing Tracking lives at /app/business/widget/tracking in the Partner Portal, alongside your Booking Widget settings.
What you fill in
Choosing a source
Seatingly ships presets for the channels partners use most, and you can enter a custom value for anything else:
- Business website
- Google Business Profile
- Google Ads
- TikTok
- SMS
- QR code
- Affiliate
- Or a custom source of your own
Use the presets where they fit
Presets keep your reports tidy. If three people on your team type “insta”, “Instagram” and “IG” as custom sources, you end up with three rows that should have been one.
Create a link
- Open Marketing Tracking at
/app/business/widget/tracking. - Give the link a tracking name you will recognise in three months’ time.
- Select the location or locations it should book into.
- Pick a source and type a campaign name. Add medium and content if you are running variants.
- Choose the destination booking flow.
- Leave the link Active, then save.
What you get back
Each saved tracking link gives you four ready-to-use assets, with copy and download actions beside them:
The copy-link, copy-embed and download-QR actions mean you never have to retype anything by hand.
What a tracked link looks like
The tracking id is opaque on purpose
Your source and campaign are never exposed in the URL — they are resolved server-side from the id. That means nobody can edit the address bar to reassign a booking to a different campaign, and your competitors cannot read your campaign structure out of a link you posted publicly.
How attribution is applied
- Attribution is resolved the moment the guest opens the link.
- It is preserved through the whole journey — inside an iframe, across redirects, and into a new tab.
- It is reload-safe: refreshing the page does not double-count the session.
- It is stored immutably on the booking, so renaming a campaign later never rewrites past reports.
- The attribution window is 30 days. A guest who clicks today and books three weeks later is still credited to that campaign.
- Bookings that arrive without a tracking link are labelled “Direct/Unknown”.
Campaigns are archived, never deleted
When you retire a campaign it is archived so historical reports stay intact. A booking from last quarter keeps the campaign it was made under, whatever you do with the link afterwards.
A naming convention that survives contact with reality
Reports are only as useful as the names you type. Agree a pattern before your first campaign:
Who can do this
Owners manage campaigns, marketing spend and average-value settings. Managers can view marketing reporting but not change it. Staff cannot see marketing data at all. Every partner only ever sees their own account’s data.
Next, put your links to work: Google Business Profile, Facebook and Instagram, or email campaigns.
